At New Chapter Academy, we believe in equipping our students with the tools and credentials necessary for a successful reentry and renewed life. We provide a variety of certificates and support services designed to build life skills, personal development, and professional readiness. These include:

Core Certificates Offered:

• Anger Management Certificate

• Parenting Skills Certificate

• 12-Step Substance Abuse Recovery Certificate

• Life Skills and Emotional Wellness Certificate

Identification Support Services:

• Assistance in obtaining a Birth Certificate

• Support with securing a State Identification Card

• Help with retrieving or renewing a California Driver’s License

• Guidance in acquiring your Social Security Card

Business & Entrepreneurial Training:

• Business Fundamentals Certificate – Understand business structure, planning, and daily operations

• Entrepreneurship & LLC Formation Certificate – Learn how to start and register your own business or nonprofit

• Guidance on how to obtain an LLC or Corporation

Custom Certificate Opportunities:
Additional certificates are available upon request. During your orientation, you will receive an Initial Assessment Form where you can specify the certificates or training you’re most interested in. Our staff will work with you to tailor a plan that supports your personal and professional goals.

Trades Offered During the Program:

• Landscaping & Groundskeeping
  Learn the fundamentals of landscape design, maintenance, irrigation systems, and equipment handling. Gain skills that prepare you for immediate employment or launching your own landscaping service.

• Culinary Arts
  Receive kitchen safety training, food preparation techniques, and meal planning education. This program helps you build the experience needed for work in restaurants, catering, or institutional kitchens.

• Barber Training & State Licensing Preparation
  Complete the required training hours, sanitation knowledge, and hands-on practice to prepare for the California State Barber License exam. Includes mentorship from licensed barbers.

• Small Appliance Repair
  Develop diagnostic and repair skills for common household appliances. This trade provides a valuable entry point into maintenance, service, and repair industries.

Employment Readiness Support:

In addition to trade skills, New Chapter Academy also equips you with critical job readiness training, including:

• Resume building and interview preparation

• Workplace communication and professionalism

• Job search and application strategies

• Financial literacy and money management

• Soft skills development for long-term workplace success

Post-Graduation Support:

Graduation from our program is not the end — it's a new beginning. We continue to support you with job placement assistance, professional references, licensing support, and entrepreneurial mentorship for those pursuing self-employment.
